Best Break-up Songs

We have a new radio station that recently hit the airwaves. They play some great music. Lots of oldies from my past. They did a "best break-up songs" afternoon. It was fun to listen to all the old heartbreaker songs. I even recall rewinding a few of them over and over again on the ghetto blaster when my heart had been broken. Good times! Here are a few of mine:

1. All Out of Love - Air Supply
2. The Flame - Cheap Trick
3. It Must Have Been Love - Roxette
4. These Eyes - Burton Cummings

Leave me a comment with your favorite break up songs.

  1. Gloria Ganner comes to mind. Also, the song Robbie Hart wrote, half with Linda, the other half after they broke up ;-)

  2. "The Break Up Song" (Greg Kihn Band) is a classic! Some of my faves are "Bluer Than Blue" (Michael Johnson), "This Love" (Sarah Brightman), "Total Eclipse of the Heart" (Bonnie Tyler), "Nothing Compares 2 U" (Sinead O'Connor), "Where Are You Now?" (Goran), "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" (Righteous Brothers/Hall & Oates) ... oh, the brokenhearted memories!

The Break up Song! I loved that song.
    "Love Stinks" J. Geils Band
    "You Oughta Know" Alannis Morissette
"Since I've Been Loving You" Led Zeppelin
That Phil Collins Song that escapes me right now.
"Everybody Hurts" REM (technically, I don't think it's a breakup song, but still, it works!)
That Psychadelic Furs song from Pretty in Pink.

I can't stop thinking of more breakup songs. While I drive, shower, watch baseball practice... Have I had this much heartache in my life? I won't answer that! : P

"I Don't Want to Talk About It" Rod Stewart
